Ruthie Vargas was born and raised in a Seventh-day Adventist home that instilled in her the value of learning and the love for her Savior. She learned that teaching was her calling at the age of fifteen. Through the mentorship of a devoted Pathfinder director, she was pushed into leadership roles that inspired her to desire a career in teaching young people.
Ruthie graduated from Southwestern Adventist University at the age of twenty-one, having fulfilled her dream of earning her degree in Elementary Education. That same month, Ruthie was offered the opportunity to come work at Tulsa Adventist Academy as the seventh- and eighth-grade homeroom teacher. This is Ruthie’s sixth year teaching at TAA, and what a blessing it has been for her to teach and mentor the young people of this school. This is where God called her to teach, and working for the Lord always has the best payout: seeing young souls accept Jesus as their personal Savior!
